Pirelli has abandoned the individual driver tyre choices for 2020 and simply issuing three compounds of tyre for all teams to use.

All the drivers will get 2 sets of hard compound tyres (white), 3 sets of mediums (yellow), and 8 sets of softs (red).

FP1:

Rain Stopped play.

More accurately the weather was below minimums for the medical helicopter, being low cloud and low visibility not only at the circuit but also en route and at the destination hospital.

FP2:

No change in weather conditions so the day’s practise has been abandoned.

FP3:

·      Dry but cold (less than 10 degrees).

·      Stroll unwell. Hulkenberg arrived at the circuit at the end of the session in case Stroll isn’t fit for qualifying.

·      Cold conditions made it a bit tricky out on the circuit, and I was waiting for a team manager to reply to a driver complaining about there being no grip with, “How much are we paying you?”!!!

RACE:

·      Russell was hit by Raikkonen who broke George’s right rear suspension.

·      Bottas lost power with an energy recovery failure, after having been passed by Hamilton for the lead.

·      Ocon’s gearbox stopped working when a hydraulics problem struck.

·      When Albon came into the pits for fresh tyres and to serve a penalty for hitting Kvyat, his engineers detected an overheating engine caused by a stone going through a radiator.

·      Norris had electrical problems that affected his power output and after a few laps of trying to rectify the problem by twiddling a few knobs and buttons it cut out.
