FP1:

á      Leclerc was using WehrleinŐs car again and George Russell, this yearŐs GP3 champion, used PerezŐs car.

á      Hartley managed a couple of laps but set no time before his engine went pop leaving him stranded on the circuit, so they brought Gasly in after only 5 laps to check his engine and he never went out again – his car being in the garage in bits for the duration of the session.

 FP3:

á      Stroll stopped on circuit with ŇNo powerÓ before setting a time. The team confirmed the car had Ňno driveÓ whatever that means!

á      Alonso was up there throughout the session. As long as he does the same in qualifying and doesnŐt have any Honda problems he could be a factor in the result!

á      The Red Bulls stayed in the garage for the best part of half the session to save engine mileage. What has F1 become?!!

 GRID:

A load of penalties for new engines and associated bits and pieces being used, and I have applied them as I think they should be, but the FIA may have different ideas, so this line-up might be different by tomorrow.

á      As indeed it was, but only slightly.  And Hamilton, having been given permission to start, left from the pit lane after the team had changed stuff while in parc ferme.
